I began sewing when I was 12 years old in Home Economics class. My mother did not sew and I never realized how much I loved to sew until I took Miss. Zimmerman's class. I made an ugly blouse/top but decided I wanted to learn more and I started to teach myself!
I made many mistakes along the way until I entered college and took a clothing construction course. Because I was never told I couldn't sew it a certain way, I had to learn how to rip out seams!
All of that is "Ancient History" and I have developed my own style of sewing and creativity. This is my first bag pattern that I designed in 2003.
It is an updated version of the "Fat Quarter Flap". You purchase 7 fat quarters and then cut them according to the pattern directions. This one is quilted with machine embroidery rather than grid quilting like the first bag.
Here is a remake of another bag- it is called the "Rio Bag" and it is a bucket bag with an inside zipper pocket. My remake uses grommets I purchased at a clearance sale instead of being stitched to the actual bag. The bag on the left is made from laminated cotton so it is easy to wipe clean!
If you are interested in purchasing with pattern, they are $9.00 plus shipping. Contact me at sweetaline@verizon.net
Enjoy!
It is adorable!
