Welcome back!

Trying to post to the internet lately has been a most frustrating experience, so I am going to try and trick it!  A few of you may 'get it' but the others may be confused.  I recently taught the final part of the "Sterling Life" class. Many of the ladies decided to make a fall table runner rather than to make the borders.

Here is Laurie A.'s version in her favorite colors of purple and green!

Here is the center flower.   Rather than add the stumpwork center she decided to only used the base so she cut put a vase on her table.

Here is Yvonne's version using many of the same fabrics that I used.

Wendy M selected a fall border which included all of these colors in her design.

Diana M also had fall in mind when she selected her colors from her 'stash'!

Barbara C and I used the same fall border but we had different backgrounds.  (I copied her!) She selected a light colored batik.

Here is my version on black linen. ( Finished table runner coming soon.... Stippling now with the BSR)

Barbara G was continuing on on with her quilt borders and had a mishap along the way.  She was unable to finish as much embroidery as the others.

Jean Z had a border in mind for her design and I snapped a pic of both her stitching along with her border.

There are three other color combinations that I am anxious to share, but not yet.  I will post them as soon as I can!  I hope you have been inspired by our artwork and will give it a try!

Kudos to all

We have reached 1252 members on the BerninaDesignWorks Facebook page! WOW!  We have members from all over the world and I am so glad that we have reached out to all of you!

It has been a loooong time since I posted because I have been so busy creating! Many of you have seen my post from Easter but I have made several houses from the Sarah Vedeler CD "It's A Sterling Life on Berkeley Square"since then.

My favorite right now is the Halloween house!

Sadly, it is missing the bling..I have been waiting for months for the template material.

Laurie made the Beach house in the class last month and used the "Row by Row" fabric.  It is a perfect match for this fabric!

Since I am retired I no longer have the excitement of an anticipation of a new school year, but I do have a house to share with you!

I added a section of a flag from the Floriani monthly designs to a light post and viola! a flag pole!

I also do love the patriotic house in all of it's glory!

As you can see I have already covered July, August, September and October for my monthly table toppers!  Currently I am am working on November and December so be sure and come back to see the designs!

I hope you have enjoyed my "Hall of Fame" designs!  If you need help with the Bernina DesignWorks's software, be sure to visit my blog here weekly as I post new ideas weekly.

Make it Sew!

So excited!! Come join the fun!

If you missed the original post on my Easter Peeps, it can be found here.  Huge thanks to DW Diva Linda D. for trying out my free Happy Easter Peeps hand towel.  Check out this pic.

I loved her color choices!  She did not use the Paintworks tool to color in the eyes and nose and her recomeendation si to tighten up the satin stitch in V7.

Anyone else out there want to give it a whirl???

Happy Easter to My Peeps!

As you probably have heard in my previous post here, I love my Peeps!  So I just had to turn my Peeps into reality and stitch them on a hand towel.  As I have said, I love my Peeps!!

Here is how I created my designs for this cute little hand towel!

I cut out the appropriate size, and then pressed the with Best Press.

I ironed on Heat n Bond Lite (following the directions) as you see above.

Cut out the shapes following the steps in my You Tube video.

Following the prompts from the sewing machine, I stitched out my designs!

This was such a creative project for me and the entire time, I was craving Peeps!  That 'silly rabbit' better bring me some!

Here is a link for the free STUDIO design.

Since I designed the original Peep in the Bernina DesignWorks software, I have included the free files for you to try out.

Here is the link for the free CUT file.

Here is the link for the single APP file.

Here is the link for the free DRAW file and the link for the free EXP file

You  must have the Bernina DesignWorks cutwork software in order to be able to open the files.  It does include the paintworks tool to color in the eyes and nose but you can skip that and color it in after.

Let me know in the comments section if you have any problems.

Happy Easter everyone!

A wedding! Bernina DesignWorks 'marries' the Silhouette Cameo!

I am so excited to be able to use both my cutwork tool AND my Silhouette Cameo to cut files that will work with the Bernina DesignWorks software.

Here is the video of the "wedding"!  Ok - just kidding, check out my most recent video in which I have outlined the steps to create a cut file for the Silhouette Cameo.  I am then able to use the embroidery file to embroider it using my Bernina Embroidery machine.

In the next blog post, I will show you how I cut the shapes and then embroidered them to make a hand towel for Easter.

Enjoy and sew on....

Bernina DesignWorks Tutorial

I thought I would take a break from "Sterling Life" and work on a video tutorial for the Bernina DesignWorks Divas group.

I am a HUGE fan of Miss Kate Cuttable files which include jpg, png and svg files. I have been cutting her files with my Pazzles for several years now but this is the first time I have ever sewn one!

The free file for today can be found here but if you missed it, you can always purchase it for $.50 in her store.

Here is the video tutorial.  Feel feel to comment or give it a thumbs up!

Anyone have any ideas what to create with this bunny?  Post a creative idea in the comments.

Enjoy and sew on....
